Xpu-Ha beach

The water was beautiful
The water was calm 5 out of the 7 days we stayed at the Xpu-Ha. The calm days were nicer but the rough days also brought the much needed wind that was a relief from the heat. The water at the beach was much cooler than the water in the pool. The pool water this time of year at any of the resorts will feel like a hot tub.
Lloyd with Lifeguard
This is taken in front of the hut where you can rent water equipment. Notice the red flag. This was taken on a rough day. Many post on the Playa board wondered about these lifeguards swimming ability. I can't speak concerning all of them but the ones we saw here can definitely swim. This lifeguard even knew how to swim all strokes for long distances. We saw him practicing in the cenote one morning.
beach
This picture was taken pretty close to the end of the beach back towards the rocks
beach chairs
The restaurant is a short distance to the right of this picture. The rocks would be back behind us
Playground
This is the kid's playground. It was not open. It was finished so I'm not sure why it wasn't open yet.
Looking towards the rocks from the beach
The rocky area provided a lot of scenery that you don't see as much at other resorts. Taking pictures of stark white sand gets old. The rocks were only in spots in the water close to the rocky area and never bothered us. If you moved down the beach a little further you didn't see rocks in the water at all.
Rinse off area and bathrooms
The white cross looking thing is the fresh water rinse off and the bathrooms are located up the stairs of the hut. The towel shack is also located in this area. They also have lockers to store valuables in while you are there.
